2019 RACE SEASON UNDERWAY / BLOG

The first round of the 2019 RSD Super Hooligan series kicked off at Salem Speedway February 9th.

I raced the Latus Motors Racing backed Harley-Davidson XG750 to a second place finish to kick off my "official" race season!

Going on to win would be fellow Latus Motors Racing member Joe Kopp aboard his Triumph.

The event went well for me. I felt like I was the man to beat all day, and won my heat race with ease. But as the night got colder, the track conditions grew more challenging and I wasn't able to nail my bike setup as I had hoped. Still, a 2nd place finish was a great start to the year for me, especially coming off my worst injury thus far so recently. Kopp ran a flawless race and I did good to work my way into second, so I was happy.

Next race up is the Daytona TT in Daytona Beach, Florida on March 14th. I was originally planning to race American Flat Track Singles (450cc class) at this event, but Super Hooligans is running in conjunction and I am only allowed to race one class. So Super Hooligans takes priority unfortunately. This is going to be the same case at the Perris Half-Mile in a couple of months in California. I was planning on doing both of these events on my 450 before the hooligan schedule came out, but oh well.
