I am excited to share that I am competing in the 2026 MotoAmerica RSD Super Hooligans Championship this year for BPR Racing on a Yamaha MT-09!
This has been in the works for a while, and it feels great to finally be healed up from an injury I had in October racing at the Moto Beach Classic. There are a lot of updates to inform you all in this blog with what's been going on. Let's dive into it!
I wrapped up the 2025 series 8th overall in the standings. I wasn't very happy with that and 2025 was a challenging year. But in comparison to 2024, 2025 was a major comeback for me. I started out the season fresh off a second surgery on the leg I broke in 2024 at Daytona, and I worked my way back into good health and great form on the motorcycle. That was my main goal for the season, and I was able to accomplish that!
Getting pole position and a new class lap record at The Ridge Motorsports Park was great too, and a podium finish.
I rode the wheels off the Triumph at every race, but unfortunately it lacked a bit of power compared to my competitors, and I wasn't able to get proper support to improve it.
The MotoAmerica season ended less than ideal for me with some challenges that popped up at the end, and ultimately I became aware it was time to make a major change for 2026. Fortunately, things seemed to happen for a reason, and immediately I had new opportunities that presented themselves that were very promising! However, breaking my arm racing flat track early October was unexpected and unfortunate. I was worried it was going to affect those opportunities, but luckily it didn't! For the first time in my career, I actually had options on the table to pick from on who I wanted to work with going into 2026.
Obviously, I picked BPR Racing. Here's why. I've raced against Bryce "Prince" Kornbau, the owner of BPR Racing, since at least 2013. He is about a year and a half older than me. I raced against him at AFM in California, and in 2015 when MotoAmerica started, we were competitors in Superstock 600 for two seasons. Bryce was always an amazing rider on track. Super fast, and he never rode in a way that made you have to think twice. He could make clean passes with ease. And off the track, he was polite and friendly. I never had one experience with him that was bad, and because of that, I respected him a lot.
Over the years Bryce has become an established bike builder and business owner, in addition to being a professional racer, and MotoAmerica Superstock 600 champion. Working with someone who can not only build and develop a fast motorcycle, but who can also test it and set it up, is a deadly combination to me. For most of my life, I've only worked with someone who is a builder. It is very rare to find someone who is actively doing both roles. So immediately I knew Bryce was the guy to work with. I felt like it would be a major advantage to have that combination.
Recently I spent a few days staying in Bakersfield where BPR Racing is based out of, and watched Bryce and Deion (another racer/ employee of BPR) take a stock Yamaha MT-09 and transform it into a race bike in 3 days. And the moment I hit the track with it at our first test, it was dialed. I was able to adapt to the bike right away, and get up to speed like I had been riding that bike for years! It was a testament to the hard work that team has put in, and the experience they have.
I am so excited to be teammates with Bryce this season racing in Super Hooligans, and to have other teammates like 4-time AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes to learn from. Josh is competing in the Supersport class on a Yamaha R9. Riding with both of those guys at our first test was a surreal feeling for me. That and seeing my bike on the liftgate of the semi-truck. For years I have dreamt of getting this type of opportunity. I think it's going to be an amazing season!
We have some more testing planned before Daytona, which is about a month away. I am looking forward to getting on the high-banks and seeing how we stack up. I think we are going to do extremely well! There is a lot of synergy between myself, members of the team, some sponsors we have, and it all just feels right. Lets see if I can get another win at Daytona now!
